About Dr. Nelson Ferriera
Hi, this is Dr. Ferreira. Welcome to Seager medical Group. I hope we have the pleasure of meeting someday. For ten years I have been performing state of the art hair transplants as the medical director of a large hair transplant clinic. My dedication to the art and science of hair transplantation resulted in the good fortune of being recommended as a reputable hair transplant physician by reviewed and well known associations. I was recognized for the effort and consistent results and I was glad for the honor and took pride in looking after my patients.
After performing thousands of hair transplants, I began to look for a new challenge. I wanted a cooperative effort with similar minded colleagues who are passionate about this work and to achieve the best results possible anywhere in the world. I wanted to concentrate on the art and surgery of hair transplantation and not so much the day to day tasks of running a business. I was thrilled when discussions with the Seager Medical Group meant that I would be working with other experienced physicians who are also committed to excellence. I can use more of my energy to dedicate to hair transplantation and the well being of my patients. Furthermore, I have the resources of a long established clinic with experienced staff and physicians who put patient care first.

I am pleased to be part of world class clinic here at The Seager Hair Transplant Centre. I am pleased to say that as of January 2015 I have been appointed the Director of this wonderful clinic. The quality of the work done here at the Seager Institute has always been precedent setting. My mission is to continue this tradition.
It is important to always strive to perform ultra -refined hair transplants that are scientifically sound artistic creations. I endeavor to treat my patients with respect and I invite them to engage me in a thorough and honest discussion of what can be accomplished for them. It is not an easy task to perform a high quality transplant; and, I believe there is no better place to receive the attention needed than here at Seager. The experience of our team and the clinic here is unparalleled.
I attended the University of Toronto where I received the Andrew Baines award for the highest undergraduate mark in life sciences in 1987. After my undergraduate, degree I attended medical school at the University of Toronto and I graduated in 1991. During my residency I was recognized for my efforts and was awarded “Intern of the Year “ and was voted chief resident twice. Initially, my career took me into emergency medicine where I enjoyed the fast pace. However, I found that this career did not fulfill my need for creative expression nor did I get to know my patients intimately since the emergency room is so busy that personal relationships are practically impossible. Furthermore, the delicate and intricate work which I enjoyed was non-existent. I have performed about 2000 transplants and I still attend continuing education conferences regularly. Even now, I am still fascinated by this field that continues to evolve.
Over the years I have had many doctors observe my techniques and train with me. There is no training in medical school or residency for doctors who would like to perform hair transplants. Some dermatologists or plastic surgeons try to convey the idea that their medical training prepares them to perform hair transplants. This is not true. Hair transplantation is a delicate process that requires apprenticeship and years of personal commitment to perfect Training for hair transplantation must be done with an experienced hair transplant doctor- and it takes time. I feel that it is important for patients to understand this when they seek out a doctor who performs hair transplants. The Seager Institute has provided this kind of training to doctors over the years.
